Takemaru is featured in the third Inuyasha movie. He was in love with Izayoi, but killed her after she gave birth to Inuyasha. Inutaishou comes in, chops off his left arm, and revives her. He gives her the fire rat cloak Inuyasha is always wearing and tells her to run, then faces off against Takemaru. They both die in the burning remains of his castle.

Takemaru later gets resurrected by the power of Sou'unga and uses Sesshoumaru’s left arm as a substitute. He becomes controlled by the sword, and fights against the Inuyasha-tachi and Sesshoumaru for revenge. In the end of the movie, he is killed again.
